Welcome to our website

We are an independent family firm of funeral directors operating from our premises on Market Street, Hyde, Tameside. Aidan has worked in the funeral profession for over a decade and was a Funeral Director at Frank Massey & Son before deciding to start his own funeral business in order to provide a high standard of care and quality of service for the people of Hyde and surrounding areas.

Aidan is a professionally qualified funeral director and Member of the National Association.... (the main governing body of the profession) and working together with his wife Victoria, you can have complete confidence in our professionalism and care, both for you and your loved one.

Why choose us to look after your loved one

The main reason is in our name. Firstly because we are independent, we have no ties to any other company. Large concerns answer to share holders, we answer to you. We are flexible and responsive to your needs and will always provide a high quality, professional service. We are a true family business. From the moment you contact us, you will either speak to Aidan or his wife Victoria and will continue to deal with us both all the way through the arrangements to the actual day of the funeral and beyond.

We know and appreciate local customs and expectations. Whether you need our advice and/or information of the choice of funeral services available and costs, or require advice on organising a pre-paid funeral plan, we fully understand the sensitivity of such enquiries and that time is required for decisions to be made. So if you would like a friendly chat with either Aidan or Victoria with no pressure and no obligation then please contact us. Especially if you need immediate assistance at the time of a death of a loved one, we are always here 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Why do we use a butterfly as our emblem?

On all our stationary you will find a red butterfly. We are asked many times ‘why choose a butterfly, Here is our answer: Firstly the beautiful butterfly with the power of flight, emerging from an apparently lifeless cocoon is a perfect symbol of life after death. In Christianity the butterfly has long been a symbol of resurrection.

Ancient Greeks considered butterflies to be the souls of those who have passed away. It is also considered a symbol of hope in many cultures.
